Our elders are ordinary men who love Jesus, love His Word, and care deeply about the people of Arise. Together, we seek to provide prayer, spiritual leadership, encouragement, and oversight as we help our church stay centered on the Gospel and the mission Jesus has given us.
No one person can do ministry alone. God has brought together a team of gifted men and women who help lead, serve, organize, encourage, and care for the people of Arise. Their heart is simple: to help our church stay focused on Jesus and make a difference in the lives of others.
The Provisional Elder Team serves alongside the Lead Pastor and Elders for a defined season of training, observation, and discernment. This team does not carry formal authority or decision-making power but provides input, prayer, and support to the active elders as they lead Arise Church.
Members of this team are invited into a year of leadership development and spiritual formation, gaining practical experience in shepherding, decision-making, and biblical leadership. Throughout the year, they’ll assist the elders in key areas of ministry, offer perspective in discussions, and help care for the body.
The goal of this team is twofold:
In short, this team is a training ground for spiritual leadership, learning to lead, shepherd, and serve under the guidance of the existing elders while prayerfully discerning God’s long-term call.
The men serving on this team at present are: Sam Barney, Jake Anderson, Tim Pretasky, Jim Dorfner, and Paul Quiram.
